Port of the fix on main to the v1 branch. _OriginCheckMiddleware returned early for GET, HEAD and OPTIONS, and again whenever a request carried no Origin, so only writes were validated. Every read endpoint of `adk web` and `adk api_server` was served to a page that reached the server by pointing a hostname it controls at 127.0.0.1. Origin cannot close that, because a browser omits Origin on the requests it considers same-origin, as a rebound page's are. The server now checks Host on every request. A loopback bind is reachable only from this machine, so a request naming any other host was pointed here by rebound DNS. Only the real Host header counts, since a page may set X-Forwarded-Host or Forwarded itself but cannot set Host. The /run_live handshake gets the same check. The bind address arrives through a new `bind_host` argument on get_fast_api_app that the CLI fills from --host; the checks key off it rather than scope["server"], which an ASGI server fills from the accepted socket and so reports 127.0.0.1 for any loopback connection, even on a wildcard bind. Behaviour changes: - A loopback-bound server reached through a proxy that forwards the browser's own hostname now returns 403 to every request, the index page included, so the UI does not load. Hosted development environments and editor port forwarding work this way. Naming that hostname in --allow_origins vouches for it and restores service. A wildcard bind (--host 0.0.0.0) is not guarded, and an SSH tunnel is unaffected because the browser stays on localhost. - A cross-origin GET, HEAD or OPTIONS carrying a foreign Origin is rejected where it used to be served, whatever the bind address. - An app that looks loopback-bound from the accepted socket and has no configured allow-origins now also rejects an Origin whose host is not loopback. An embedder behind a same-host proxy that passes neither bind_host nor allow_origins has to name its origin in allow_origins. - New keyword argument `bind_host` on get_fast_api_app. The existing `host` argument keeps its default and its meaning. It is not read by the returned app, so reusing it would key the guard to a loopback bind that an embedder may not have and reject all of that app's own traffic.

Stable Release (Recommended)
You can install the latest stable version of ADK using pip:
pip install google-adk
To install optional integrations, you can use the following command:
pip install "google-adk[extensions]"
The release cadence is roughly bi-weekly.
This version is recommended for most users as it represents the most recent official release.
Development Version
Bug fixes and new features are merged into the main branch on GitHub first. If you need access to changes that haven't been included in an official PyPI release yet, you can install directly from the main branch:
pip install git+https://github.com/google/adk-python.git@main
Note: The development version is built directly from the latest code commits. While it includes the newest fixes and features, it may also contain experimental changes or bugs not present in the stable release. Use it primarily for testing upcoming changes or accessing critical fixes before they are officially released.
