Daniel Sutton f98e303292 feat(webapp): resolve which shard an environment mints run roots into (#4755)
## Summary

Adds the shard-selection stage of run-id minting.
`resolveMintShard(env)` returns which run-ops database an environment
mints its new run roots into: the active shard list, then a fleet-wide
override, then a per-environment or per-organization pin, then a
rendezvous hash of the environment id.

That half is inert. Nothing calls `resolveMintShard`, no deployment has
any of the new flags set, and an empty active list returns the current
answer without reading anything.

**The other half is not inert, and it is where review effort belongs.**
To stamp a grace window this needs a read-then-write under a lock, so it
rewrites the global feature-flag write path that `runOpsMintKind`
already depends on in production. See below.

## Placement

Resolution reads the active list from a global flag, applies the grace
window, and then picks:

- a fleet-wide override if one is set, which is how a cutover completes
without visiting each organization. `new` holds the whole fleet on the
current id format.
- otherwise a per-environment or per-organization pin. `new` holds one
organization back while the rest move, which is how a canary works.
- otherwise a rendezvous hash, so adding a shard moves only about
1/(N+1) of environments and removing one moves only its own.

Two hash details are load-bearing. Scores are 64-bit `sha256(envId \0
key)`, because a 32-bit score collides at our environment count and an
undetected tie would resolve by iteration order. The parsed key list is
sorted, because otherwise two deployments listing the same shards in a
different CSV order would place environments differently.

A pin or override naming a shard that has left the active list falls
through to the hash and reports once. Honouring it would leak the drain
the active list exists to perform, and throwing would fail triggers
whenever a pinned shard drains.

## Why the active list is a flag and not an environment variable

A deploy rolls for hours, so two pods hold two different environment
values at the same time. A list held in the environment therefore splits
the fleet for the length of the rollout, with new pods placing an
environment on one shard and old pods on another. A grace window
measured in seconds cannot cover that, and the same knob times the
existing mint-kind flip so it cannot simply be lengthened. An
environment variable also cannot record its own flip time, and an
operator cannot know a rollout's end in advance.

So the list, its grace stamp and the override are global flags, written
server-side against the control-plane clock under an advisory lock. This
branch adds no environment variables.

## The write path, which is live

Stamping generalises to any number of graced flag groups in one
transaction under one lock. That has three consequences a reviewer
should look at directly:

- It closes a real bug. `runOpsMintKind` is an editable control on the
global flags page, and that page previously wrote it with a bare upsert:
no lock, no stamp. An operator flipping mint kind through the UI got an
ungraced flip, so every pod crossed the cutover at a different moment.
Verified against a running instance, before and after.
- A graced group is all-or-nothing. Submitting its primary writes the
group with a fresh stamp; omitting it deletes the primary and its stamp
together, because a stamp left without its primary keeps being served
and would mint into a shard just removed.
- The advisory lock takes the previous id as well as the current one, in
a fixed order, so writers on an older release still serialise during a
rollout. The legacy id can be dropped one release after this ships.

This folds with #4751 rather than replacing it: its `unlockLockedFlags`
rule decides what the sweep may delete, and the graced groups keep their
stamp under the lock. Both sets of tests pass.

## Notes for review

Determinism is a property of the pure core for fixed inputs. The wrapper
supplies the clock, the same split `effectiveMintKind` already uses. A
failed read of the list falls back to the current id format rather than
guessing.

Six flags appear in the admin pages immediately. The two pins are
per-organization, so they render read-only on the global page. The list,
its stamp and the override are deployment-wide, so they render read-only
in the organization dialog.

Nothing bounds the active list against shards that actually exist. That
is safe while nothing mints, but the change that carries a shard key
into an id must land after the shard descriptors bound the list, or
bound it itself.

Chris Arderne 9dca03f682 chore: enforce exhaustive React hook dependencies (#4712)
## Summary

Enables exhaustive React Hook dependency checking and resolves the
existing violations across the dashboard and React hooks package.
Effects and callbacks now track current values without introducing
request, subscription, or render loops.

## Design

Dependencies are included directly when the hook lifecycle should follow
them. Timers, Remix fetchers, and realtime subscriptions use stable
callbacks or latest-value refs where restarting work would change
behavior.

Unnecessary memoization was removed where ordinary derivation is
clearer. Full lint and typechecks for the webapp and React hooks package
pass.

Katia Bulatova fbd6df33b4 feat(webapp): Themes + contrast settings update (#4206)
Adds System Preferences, Dark and Light themes, gated by the
`hasThemeSwitcher` feature flag (off by default — dark stays the default
theme for everyone).

Old theme is now "Classic"and set as default.
"System preferences" theme has both Light and Dark modes and uses your
laptop settings to use a correct one.
It has less color accents (specifically less colored text), and they are
the same for both modes, only grayscale values change between them. And
Light/Dark themes can be used separately.

New Contrast setting is available for System Preferences, Dark and Light
themes - it changes the contrast for the whole app. All new visual
Settings live in Account.

Eric Allam 5ba8557a51 chore(webapp,core): remove the end-of-life v3 (engine V1) execution stack (#4236)
## Summary

v3 (the engine that ran the SDK v3 era, internally
`RunEngineVersion.V1`) is end-of-life. Following the removal of the v3
execution apps
([#4194](https://github.com/triggerdotdev/trigger.dev/pull/4194)) and
the legacy dev websocket
([#4198](https://github.com/triggerdotdev/trigger.dev/pull/4198)), this
removes the remaining v3 execution stack from the server.

Clients still on v3 (an old SDK or CLI that has not upgraded) keep
getting a clear "upgrade to v4" response. Triggers, batch triggers,
reschedules, and deploys that resolve to v3 are rejected with a graceful
4xx pointing at the migration guide, never a 5xx, so a stale client
cannot affect server health. Self-hosted instances still running v3
should stay on the 4.5.x release line until they migrate.

## What is removed

- The MarQS queue and its shared/dev queue consumers.
- The v3 socket.io namespaces (coordinator, provider, shared-queue) and
the v3 run lifecycle services (attempt, checkpoint, and batch-resume).
- The graphile-worker background job system; all live jobs already run
on `@trigger.dev/redis-worker`.
- The `DEPRECATE_V3_ENABLED` flag: v3 is now rejected unconditionally,
so the flag is gone.
- Unused v3 exports from `@trigger.dev/core` (the `v3/zodNamespace`
subpath and the legacy socket message catalogs) and the now-dead MarQS
environment variables.

## What stays

The v4 engine is untouched. The graceful v3 rejection boundary stays,
`determineEngineVersion` still detects a v3 project so it can reject it,
and the batch service plus batch-completion worker stay for current
clients. Live queue concurrency limits and metrics now read from the v4
run engine instead of MarQS, and a brand-new dev environment now
defaults to v4.

## Dependency cleanup

Removes webapp dependencies left unused by this change: `seedrandom` and
`semver` (only the removed v3 code used them) plus a set that was
already dead, their orphaned `@types` packages, and two dead files. Adds
a `knip:deps` script and a `knip.json` config so unused dependencies can
be found the same way going forward.

Daniel Sutton 8465ac5ac3 feat(run-ops): webapp db topology, flags, and split-mode resolver wiring (#4117)
## What

Wires the run-ops split into the webapp: database topology, environment
flags, split-mode gating, and the control-plane resolver/cache layer
that the run-store and run-engine seams from the previous PR plug into.

- **DB topology & env** (`apps/webapp/app/db.server.ts`,
`env.server.ts`, `entry.server.tsx`): adds the run-ops database
clients/topology and the environment variables that configure and gate
the split.
- **runOpsMigration module** (new
`apps/webapp/app/v3/runOpsMigration/`): the webapp-side machinery —
`splitMode.server.ts`, `controlPlaneResolver.server.ts` +
`controlPlaneCache.server.ts`, `readThrough.server.ts`,
`crossSeamGuard.server.ts`, `distinctDbSentinel.server.ts`, id-minting
helpers (`mintBatchFriendlyId`, `runOpsMintKind`,
`resolveInheritedMintKind`), `runOpsCascadeCleanup.server.ts`, the split
read gate, and route/unblock catalogs.
- **Store/engine wiring** (`app/v3/runStore.server.ts`,
`runEngine.server.ts`, `runEngineHandlers.server.ts` + new
`runEngineHandlersShared.server.ts`): points the webapp's store/engine
construction at the resolver, and factors shared handler logic out so
both seams use one path.
- **Read-path touch-ups**: `runtimeEnvironment.server.ts`,
`eventRepository/index.server.ts`, `taskRunHeartbeatFailed.server.ts`,
`engineVersion.server.ts` route their run/environment lookups
read-through the resolver.
- `413a94511` — interlocks split mode against the native realtime
backend so the two aren't enabled in an incompatible combination (see
`.server-changes/run-ops-split-realtime-interlock.md`).
- `dc74c57fd` — drops the earlier "known-migrated" read layer; residency
is determined by id-shape only.

## Why

PR5 of the run-ops split stack. This is the webapp foundation layer: it
stands up the DB topology, flags, and resolver/cache the rest of the
stack depends on, and repoints webapp read paths through the resolver.
Additive when the split is not enabled (existing single-DB behavior
preserved behind flags); behavior-changing on the read-through paths and
the realtime interlock.

## Tests

New vitest coverage across `apps/webapp/test/` and colocated
`*.server.test.ts` files: db topology, split mode, split read gate,
cross-seam guard, mint cutover / flip latency, control-plane cache,
control-plane resolver, distinct-db sentinel, read-through loaders
(route loaders, run-detail loaders, `findEnvironmentFromRun`), and the
run-engine handlers. Testcontainers-backed; no mocks. `pnpm-lock.yaml`
synced for the two new webapp deps.

## Notes

Draft, **stacked on #4116** (`runops/pr04-store-engine`). Review that
first; this diff is against it.

Server-change / changeset note to be added at stack-assembly time.

Chris Arderne c7861be520 chore: activate no-unused-vars and import linters (#4096)
Once this is merged, oxlint is at a pretty sensible baseline.

**Enable `no-unused-vars`, `typescript/consistent-type-imports`, and
`import/no-duplicates` lint rules**

Turns on three previously-disabled oxlint rules across the monorepo and
fixes all violations:

- **`no-unused-vars`** – enabled as an error with standard ignore
patterns: unused function arguments are ignored by default (`args:
"none"`), variables/caught errors/destructured array elements prefixed
with `_` are allowed, and rest siblings are permitted.
- **`typescript/consistent-type-imports`** – enforced as an error; all
type-only imports now use the `import type` syntax.
- **`import/no-duplicates`** – enforced as an error; duplicate import
statements from the same module have been merged.

The remaining commits clean up the violations found across the codebase:
removing unused variables/imports/type aliases, adding `_` prefixes to
intentionally unused bindings, fixing duplicate imports, and converting
value imports to `import type` where appropriate.

nicktrn ae08c9cb60 fix(webapp): admin feature flag number inputs and scrolling (#3979)
The global feature flags admin page had a few rough edges.

The percentage flags are numeric (`z.coerce.number()`) but rendered as
free-text inputs, so you could type non-numeric values that only failed
validation after submitting - and the error surfaced behind the confirm
dialog. The control-type detection now recognises numbers and renders a
proper number input, with the min/max range as the placeholder so the
type is clear even when the field is unset. The save error also shows
inside the confirm dialog now, not just behind it.

The action buttons were unreachable without zooming out. The admin
layout wrapped each page in a plain block, so `h-full` page content
overran the viewport by the height of the tab bar and got clipped by the
`overflow-hidden` body. Making the layout a flex column bounds each page
to the space below the tabs, so the existing per-page scroll works and
the feature flags page scrolls like the Users/Orgs tabs. Also capped the
confirm dialog's diff list so its footer stays on screen when there are
many changes.

Iss 2b845455b0 feat(webapp): admin back-office editors for org max projects and batch rate limit (#3475)
## Summary

- Adds admin-only editors on the back-office org page for
`Organization.maximumProjectCount` and
`Organization.batchRateLimitConfig`, alongside the existing API rate
limit editor.
- Splits the back-office org page into per-section components
(`ApiRateLimitSection`, `BatchRateLimitSection`, `MaxProjectsSection`)
so each tool is self-contained — adding new sections later doesn't bloat
the route.
- Generalizes the rate-limit form into a reusable `RateLimitSection`
component + `RateLimitDomain` server config so API and batch share the
same UI, validation, and action handler. Each domain only owns its env
defaults, DB column, and logger key.
- "Saved." banner and validation errors are scoped to the section that
submitted, not the page.

Heads-up: the API rate-limit log key was renamed
`admin.backOffice.rateLimit` → `admin.backOffice.apiRateLimit` for
symmetry with the new `admin.backOffice.batchRateLimit`.

## Test plan

- [ ] As an admin, visit `/admin/back-office/orgs/:orgId` and confirm
all three sections render with the org's current values (or system
defaults).
- [ ] Edit and save each section; confirm only that section shows the
"Saved." banner.
- [ ] Submit invalid input (e.g. `0` tokens, malformed interval);
confirm errors render in the offending form only and the other sections
stay closed.
- [ ] Confirm a non-admin user is redirected away from the route.
- [ ] After saving a rate-limit override, hit the org with traffic and
confirm the new limit is enforced (API rate limit + batch rate limit
code paths read the column at request time).

nicktrn 5447cf4843 feat(webapp): admin UI for feature flag overrides (#3291)
Adds a dialog to the admin orgs page for viewing and editing per-org
feature flag overrides. Flags are introspected from the catalog so the
UI stays in sync with available flags automatically. Also adds a new tab
for global flags.

Refactors featureFlags.server.ts to split catalog definition (shared)
from server-only runtime (flags(), makeSetMultipleFlags). The shared
module exports flag metadata and validation so both the UI and API
routes can use it without pulling in server dependencies.
